Update on ambulances, 22 is at ROBINSON FORD getting the oil leak fixed which is the same oil leak problem we have had for some time. The problem was a bad valve cover that was damaged before but not at ROBINSON FORD. The shakeing in the front end is being checked. The front end shook on me on the way to the shop. I was glad it did it to me so i would have something to tell the shop, and yes it was bad. 22 is also getting 6 new tires as soon as we get it back. The shop will also fix the dogbox. The only smell they could find was the oil burning off the manifold..........Ambulance 31 is back in service and all of the emergency lights work.  31 goes to the shop THURSDAY morning for new bushings in the front end, bearings in front wheels packed and tightend, 2 new batteries, and hour meter. As soon as 22 and 31 are done 21 will go to shop to take care of the abs and check engine light. It also will get the front end checked out. As these trucks are in the shop all brakes will be checked. 21 will get a wv state inspection also. When all this is done 61 will be taken out of service for a major  going over. I am aware of all the problems with the trucks but we will get them taken care of. We are looking at new trucks now, but everything takes time. Please be patient.  To all WCEAA staff MERRY CHRISTMAS . BE SAFE

Need someone from station 50, remove the lense and get the number off of the bulb that is out. We can get the bulb at J and J on tuesday while we have 22 there for repairs. If i know this evening i may have a bulb at station 30.

The only emergency lighting that is working on 31 is the light bar. There are no lights working on the sides or rear of the unit. The grill lights and intersection lights are not working. Just keep this in mind when you are running code.

Vehicles / PLUGGING AMBULANCES IN
« on: December 11, 2011, 12:40:42 pm »
0n DEC. 11th. ambulance 31 would not start due to the battery switch being left on and not plugged in and inside lights on. We were paged out for a chimney fire. That is why station 20 was paged out for this call. After putting battery charger on boost the truck started. I had a crew to do this run, but when policies are not followed this is what happens. This run was not a life or death run, but what if it would have been. This is the reason all ambulances need to be charging when not in use.  Remember. plug ALL trucks in.

I have made an appointment for ambulance 22 for DEC. 13th at  J and J for repairs. At this time they will fix the rear heater and check front end and see if they can find the burning smell.

Ambulance 31 will have to go to J J  also, after some of the other problems are resolved. As long as MEDIC 20 runs and the  wheels are still on it.  thats fine. I  will get to it.

I am waiting on a call from J J to get 22 into the shop for rear heater repair, which at that time the parts will be ordered for 51. J J  can get the FORD parts cheaper than we can get them from FORD.  Please be patient with me. I am doing the most criticaly ill ambulances first. Please call me anytime with problems.  CELL/ 1  304 815 2729   HOME 1 304 455 6052
