Public Comment / Wheeling Hospital New ER and Directions
« Last post by Raper, Joyce on April 20, 2012, 08:55:45 am »
Please note the following when taking a patient to Wheeling Medical Park.Follow the signs to new ER in Tower 5.
Use our access" cards that will be in each unit to enter through the doors.enter the first set of doors Going down the hallway, go through another set of double doors  to look at the electronic board.
Look at the electronic board with what ER room to deliver the patient to.  Going down the hallway, through another set of double doors  to look at the electronic board. After patient delivery go to the EMS room located at the ER entrance. There you will be able to receive a face sheet from a printer located in the EMS room. To receive any supplies that you used, obtain a sticker on  the bulletin board in the room where you placed your patient.Take the sticker to the guard for supply replacement.
Ambulances are to come through the new ER entrance, but then if the patient is a direct admit, we are to go through the new double doors once inside the new ER hallway, then enter the hallway by the cath lab and continue to use the old "staff" elevators we have always used.  Unless we are taking a patient to the new tower, we are not to utilize the new elevators.

Policies / Narcotic Combination Lock
« Last post by Raper, Joyce on January 23, 2012, 07:51:41 am »
It has come to my attention that employees are still putting red tags on the narc box. When we had our meeting on January 5th 2012 this issued was discussed. Upon majority vote of the paramedics, it was decided that a combination lock would be placed on the narc box instead of the red tag. Station 20 ambulances do not need a red tag. Station 30, 50 , and 60 should have the combination lock and red tag. These stations do not always have a medic on the truck on a daily basis. Please make sure you have a witness sign on your daily shift report after checking your narcotics. For the time being write this witness on the top right corner of the shift report. We are in the process of making new shift reports that will include this matter. The shift reports will remain the same but with this additive to it.
Thank You and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Vehicles / gear shift on 21
« Last post by McBee, Carla on January 17, 2012, 01:05:19 pm »
The gear shift on 21 is broken and it shows you are always in first gear.   I have contacted Jim and he will be checking with Sardis Tire for the repair.  You can still shift gears, you just have to guess which gear you are in.
